Enjoying Singapore

After lunch we enjoyed the Singapore River Cruise.

I finally saw the Merlion; the symbol of Singapore.

Amanda invited us to her apartment at Fraser Suites. Her room was gorgeous. My husband and I were happy that she got a great position in SIM, and we are very proud of her! We were glad to see this part of her life in Singapore, too. 

We enjoyed moon cakes together she had bought in China town for us. The inside of the moon cake includes a york, it looked like a moon.

The next day, my husband and I enjoyed Singapore with Amanda.
First, we went to the Singapore Zoo to enjoy breakfast with the orangutans. I recommend it to families with kids; they can take pictures with the orangutans and it creates nice memories.

Singapore is clean everywhere due to their strict laws against littering on roads, chewing gum or even drinking a bottle of water in buses and taxies. I was impressed to see cars were very clean and shining because of polishing. It is a small country, but there is a mix of many different cultures and food, I think that it was important to have strict rules to build a country that respects each other's cultures.

We went to Marina Bay Sands; the structures is very unique. The three building are connected at the top by a rooftop cantilever. It is a landmark in Singapore.

That is also where the Singapore Art Science Museum is, which is famous for being in the shape of a lotus.

We enjoyed lunch at TWG in a mall in Marina Bay Sands.

 

 It was very pretty tea restaurant.

Melaka

We went to Melaka, Malaysia. It was my birthday, so it became a memorable birthday for me!
It was almost one day trip; it took about three hours from Singapore to Melaka.

Melaka is a historical city; a world heritage; this country has many cultures because it was controlled by countries in the past.

On our way back to Singapore, we stopped at a rest area and enjoyed a coffee. This coffee looked black, but there was condensed milk in it.

Amanda in Singapore

I went to Singapore to see Amanda with my husband. Amanda has been living in Singapore since August; she lectures at SIM now. I was looking forward to seeing her very much. I was very happy that she looked well.

                 

                                                   


My husband and I had a chance to attend her class at SIM.
Amanda came to Singapore to be an instructor at SIM in the UB Communication program. I was very proud of her; she is a great lecturer.

SIM is the largest and most comprehensive university in Singapore. The building is pretty.

We had a memorable experience thanks to Amanda. I felt that I was going back to campus life as a student; on the other hand, I was happy to see Amanda like my "American daughter" as I like her "Japanese mother".

Swiss Watch

I noticed that there was a lot of clocks here and there; Switzerland is truly a country of clocks.

 This is a clock at a railway station.

Mondaine Watch below is designed from the official Swiss railway clock; it was famous and popular because of its design. The second hand of a clock is red, and we could clearly see the time. I bought it for the memory of our trip to Switzerland.

Hiking from First to Lake Bachalpsee

We hiked to Lake Bachalpsee from First. While we were hiking, we enjoyed snow-covered Alps and flowers. The air was very fresh and the sky was clear blue.

 There were many cows, and they came across our hiking course walking slowly in front of us.

 Many people were enjoying the course to Lake Bachalpsee.

 It was not the best season to enjoy flowers, but we were attracted by the flowers.

It took about two hours to Lake Bachalpsee as this brochure says.

 We enjoyed the scenes once again on our way back to First Observatory.

First Flyer

We took a rope way to go to First Observatory. The rope way station was close from our hotel.

It was a fine day to enjoy a beautiful view from the rope way.

We were looking forward to enjoying the First Flyers, a flying on the rope from First to Schreckfeld. We were really thrilled by it. I was very scared if my flyer could stop at the ending point because of its speed.
